Tapestry

... blog post:

Life's rich tapestry; an intricate sequence of events, the bad and the good interwoven. Photography; a way of life bringing order from chaos, calm in the storm, light in the darkness, joy in adversity, a restorative in coping with the vagaries of life.

Life has its ups and downs, its good times and bad, its triumphs and its despairs. 'That', as they say, 'is just life', it comes to us all rich or poor, young or old, it cannot be avoided.

But for many of us we have one constant that is there throughout all the chaos that is normal life that uplifts us whatever the times, that conducts us away into our own world, our own space-time, and that is our photography.

It absorbs us, we are occupied by it continuously, we live it, and we describe ourselves though it. We are photographers, this is our way of life. Our reward is that it heightens the joys and helps blunt the pains woven into the rich tapestry of our lives.

Thus when I am out and about my camera is always with me, I am always looking for the opportunity for an engaging subject and to create an interesting picture from it that might speak to me.

When I am not making pictures then you may find me post processing them and when not doing that writing articles about them and loading some of them up to this web site.

If not doing any of that you will oft times find me thinking about photography or planning trips out or simply cleaning my gear. Finally, if forced to, I will be carrying out all the other things in life like doing chores, paying bills, shopping and all the boring stuff you have do that takes you away from the more important stuff like, well...... er...... photography.

So, life's rich tapestry; a series of photographic events intertwined with a lot of boring but essential other stuff you'd rather not be doing but you have to, sigh!
